Doma Infrastructure Group Unveils Gigawatt Ambition by Partnering Thai Leading Technology Park Operator, Silicon Tech Park

Singapore 12 December 2024

Doma Infrastructure Group (DIG), a developer of master-planned data centre parks, has announced its gigawatt-scale ambition to revolutionize Thailand’s digital infrastructure by partnering with Silicon Tech Park (STP), a leading Thai technology park operator. DIG has signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with STP to jointly develop three AI-ready green data centre parks in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC).

The joint venture will oversee the acquisition of 300 acres of freehold land across Chachoengsao, Chonburi, and Rayong provinces, with a total planned power capacity of 1.5GW. These developments are poised to redefine the region’s data centre ecosystem.

The data centre parks will feature scalable power core and shell facilities, integrated with renewable energy solutions and sustainable water systems. By aligning with Thailand’s EEC strategy, the campuses will cater to data centre operators, hyperscalers, and GPU-as-a-service providers, and are projected to be ready for service by Q3 of 2026.

Validation of a Thriving Market

Thailand has emerged as a key market in Southeast Asia, attracting substantial digital infrastructure investments thanks to its strategic location, robust power grid, and progressive government policies. Recent announcements of major projects in the EEC underscore the region's appeal, bolstered by tax incentives, investment promotions, advanced infrastructure, technology enablement, and access to skilled labour.

Clement Goh, Chief Executive Officer of DIG, emphasized the significance of this partnership:  “Thailand is a core market for DIG’s Asia Pacific strategy, and our gigawatt plan reflects our commitment to driving transformative projects in the region. Collaborating with STP, a partner with deep local resources, reinforces our confidence in building a sustainable digital infrastructure ecosystem.”

Npairoj Piempongsant, Founder and Chairman of STP, shared his perspective:  “This collaboration with DIG marks a significant milestone, validating the industrial plan we have long championed. The EEC is at the forefront of Thailand’s transformation, and we are excited to lay the groundwork for a digital infrastructure network that will position the region as a Southeast Asian leader.”

Timed for Leadership in Digital Development

The partnership between DIG and STP has been carefully timed to capitalise on market momentum and meet the surging demand for advanced data centre infrastructure. By focusing on long-term, scalable solutions, the JV aims to provide a sustainable foundation for Thailand’s digital economy.

In the coming months, DIG and STP will unveil the refined master plan for the data centre parks. Site visits are now open for prospective partners and stakeholders eager to witness the groundwork of these transformative developments.
